1 player games are most likely easy to install--I've seen tons of places that talk about it. The few competitive games (like between users, Chess, Checkers, etc..) I've seen for phpBB have all been for phpBB v3, unfortunately.

I think it'd be best for me to stick to this one until you've worked with v3 a bit more yourself. It might be interesting to start a test forum that we could tinker with without worry about it affecting others. Could we set something like that up?
